How to plan your 2027 leave: 8 days of leave, 31 days off
Singapore has 11 public holidays in 2027, and most of them sit next to a weekend. Here are the best ways to stretch them.
The best deals
| Holiday | Take leave | Days off |
|---|---|---|
| Hari Raya Haji + Vesak Day | Tue 18, Wed 19, Fri 21 May | 9 days (Sat 15 – Sun 23 May) |
| Hari Raya Puasa | Mon 8, Tue 9, Thu 11, Fri 12 Mar | 9 days (Sat 6 – Sun 14 Mar) |
| New Year’s Day | Mon 4 Jan | 4 days |
| Chinese New Year | Fri 5 Feb | 4 days |
| Good Friday | Thu 25 Mar | 4 days |
| National Day | Fri 6 Aug | 4 days |
| Deepavali | Fri 29 Oct | 4 days |
| Christmas | Thu 23, Fri 24 Dec | 4 days |
May is the standout: Hari Raya Haji falls on a Monday and Vesak Day on Thursday of the same week, so 3 days of leave give you 9 days off.
If you only have 8 days to spare
Take one day next to each of New Year’s Day, Chinese New Year, Good Friday, Hari Raya Haji, Vesak Day, Labour Day, National Day and Deepavali. That’s 8 long weekends, 31 days off in total.

Saturday holidays
Chinese New Year’s first day, Labour Day and Christmas fall on Saturdays in 2027. If you don’t work Saturdays and are covered by the Employment Act, your employer must give you another day off or a day’s pay. Ask HR which one.
Book early
Flights around these long weekends fill up fast. Apply for leave and book as early as your company allows.
