CPF changes in 2026: what's different on your payslip
Three CPF changes took effect in 2026.
1. Salary ceiling: $8,000
CPF now applies to the first $8,000 of monthly salary, up from $7,400 in 2025. If you earn more than $7,400, both you and your employer put in more, and your take-home pay drops slightly.
At $8,000 or more, you now pay $1,600 a month into CPF (20%), $120 more than in 2025. The yearly cap on all wages, including bonuses, stays at $102,000.
2. Higher rates for ages 55 to 65
| Age | You pay | Employer pays | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 55 and below | 20% | 17% | 37% |
| 56 to 60 | 18% | 16% | 34% |
| 61 to 65 | 12.5% | 12.5% | 25% |
| 66 to 70 | 7.5% | 9% | 16.5% |
| Above 70 | 5% | 7.5% | 12.5% |
Rates for workers aged 56 to 65 went up by 1.5 percentage points, and rise again in 2027.
3. Retirement sums for those turning 55
| 2026 | 2027 | |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Retirement Sum | $110,200 | $114,100 |
| Full Retirement Sum | $220,400 | $228,200 |
| Enhanced Retirement Sum | $440,800 | $456,400 |
Your sums are fixed in the year you turn 55.
