Filing income tax in 2027: key dates for YA2027
Tax in Singapore is paid a year late: what you earn in 2026 is taxed in 2027, as Year of Assessment (YA) 2027.
Key dates
| When | What |
|---|---|
| By 31 Dec 2026 | Last day for SRS contributions and CPF cash top-ups to count for YA2027 |
| Early March 2027 | Filing opens on myTax Portal. Most employers send your income to IRAS directly |
| 18 April 2027 | Deadline to file online |
| From about May 2027 | Tax bill (Notice of Assessment) arrives |
| Within 1 month of the bill | Pay in full, or set up GIRO |
Do I need to file?
If IRAS asks you to, yes, even if your employer already sends your income. Log in, check the pre-filled numbers, add any reliefs (such as parent or child relief), and submit. Some people are on the No-Filing Service and only need to check.
Paying by GIRO
With GIRO, you can spread the bill over up to 12 monthly instalments, interest-free. Set it up early, before the bill arrives.
Still 2026? Two ways to cut next year’s bill
- SRS: up to $15,300 ($35,700 for foreigners) by 31 December.
- CPF cash top-up: up to $8,000 for yourself and $8,000 for family.
You save your top tax rate on each dollar. See SRS or CPF top-up before 31 December?
