GST: Goods and Services Tax
Singapore's consumption tax, 9% since 1 Jan 2024.
GST is Singapore’s tax on most goods and services, currently 9% (since 1 Jan 2024). It is collected by GST-registered businesses and is usually already included in shop prices.
Exceptions you will notice: restaurant prices marked ++ add GST at the till, and so do some B2B quotes. Residential rent and most financial services are exempt.
Tourists can claim GST back on eligible purchases when leaving the country. Lower-income citizens get cash GST Vouchers each year to offset the tax.
