MediSave

CPF & retirement

The CPF account for medical bills and health insurance premiums.

MediSave is the part of your CPF set aside for healthcare. It pays for hospital stays, some outpatient treatments and approved procedures, up to withdrawal limits.

It also pays premiums for MediShield Life, the basic health insurance every citizen and PR has, and part of the premium of an Integrated Shield Plan if you buy one.

Self-employed people have to contribute to MediSave too, based on their net trade income. You can also top up MediSave in cash, and a voluntary top-up can qualify for tax relief.
